How to choose a filter centrifuge

The choice of a filter centrifuge is more difficult than a decanter centrifuge. Generally speaking, the filter centrifuge is suitable for occasions where the suspension is relatively concentrated and the particle size is moderate, and the mother liquor is more viscous. The specific gravity of liquids and solids is not important, i.e. both floating and sedimentary suspensions can be processed. However, solids with high specific gravity and solids with low specific gravity have difficulty moving through the screen.
When choosing a filter centrifuge, the requirements for the filter cake are generally considered first, that is, the model is preliminarily selected according to the dryness of the solids, the washing effect, and the destruction requirements of the solids. The selection of the selected centrifuge is then determined on the basis of an intermediate test or an actual machine test.
If data on suspension and cake requirements are missing, they should be obtained experimentally. The growth rate of filter residue thickness of the suspension, i.e., the time (cm/s) required to produce a certain thickness of filter residue, reflects a comprehensive index of factors such as particle size, concentration, viscosity and permeability. It can be obtained using a Butchina funnel or a blade testing facility (250-400 mm Hg vacuum is sufficient). The drying characteristics of the filter cake in a centrifugal force field can be obtained by testing a small centrifuge (diameter 150-300 mm) in the range of separation factors 500-1000. A certain amount of suspension is slowly added by placing a filter bag in a perforated bowl to maintain a small layer of liquid on the filter residue surface. The filter residue is then extruded into the mother liquor, washed if required, and finally spun dry. When finding the drying characteristics, the filter residue sample can be taken out for measurement at different times from the time when the liquid level disappears on the filter residue.
In the small centrifuge described above, the washing data can be obtained in this way, and the relationship between the washing time and the removal of impurities (equivalent to different washing ratios, i.e. kg of wash water/kg solids) can be obtained by careful washing with a flat spray nozzle at maximum filtration speed.
In order to obtain more accurate flow data, the obtained mother liquor can be recirculated at different filter residue thicknesses. When a small layer of liquid is present on the filter residue, the flow rate can be measured (which can lead to a large error in compressible filter residues). It is also possible to use a small test-tube centrifuge to find certain properties of the suspension in the presence of a centrifugal force field. For example, the relationship between the moisture content of the filter residue and the separation factor, the thickness of the filter cake, and the separation time can be obtained.
Hongyan centrifuge tells you the factors that should be considered in the selection of centrifuge:
(1) The separation of materials mainly involves solid phase materials or liquid phase materials.
(2) The particle size, density and hardness of solid materials.
(3) The density, viscosity and surface tension of liquid-phase materials.
(4) Affinity, concentration, and all charge properties (positive or negative) of solid and liquid phase materials
(5) The volatility of the material.
(6) Flammability and explosiveness of the material.
(7) Corrosiveness of the material.
(8) The recovery rate of materials.
(9) When the solid material is a crystalline product, the damage degree of the crystalline body is required to be low during separation, which has special requirements for the structure of the equipment and the way and method of discharging.
(10) Sludge properties: the higher the organic content of the sludge, the greater the oil content, and the worse the dewatering performance.
(11) Sludge treatment capacity, for a certain specification of centrifuge, the effluent effect changes with the increase of sludge treatment capacity, in order to achieve the expected goal, it is very important to choose the appropriate model according to the sludge volume.
(12) Speed difference: its size not only affects the processing capacity, but also affects the processing effect of Atlas air compressor accessories.
